What the reports show
One Keyword, Measured Twice on the Same Grid
Both scans cover a 9 × 9 grid across a five-mile radius — 81 separate search points, each recording where Green Air Duct Club appeared in the Google Map Pack for a searcher standing at that spot.
One caveat worth stating before the numbers. The two reports declare grid centres 0.74 miles apart, so the scans overlap heavily but are not strictly identical. The comparison is sound at this scale and the shift is small against a five-mile radius, but it is not a like-for-like re-run of the same grid and we are not going to present it as one.
Two numbers carry most of the meaning. Average rank position is the mean Map Pack position across the points where the business was found, so lower is better. Share of Local Voice is the percentage of the whole grid where it held a top-three position.

“air duct cleaning san antonio”
In December the southern half of the grid was almost entirely red. Thirty of the 81 points returned nothing in the top 20 at all, and the business was found at just 51 of them. By August it was found at 65, with 16 points unranked, and the whole northern and central band had gone green — a run of first places through Encino Park, Stone Oak and Bracken.
The south is still weak, and the August report says so in its own words: a visibility gap in the southwest, where the average total rank position slips to 20. This is a campaign in progress rather than a finished one.

The competitive picture
Eighth to Second, in a Market That Grew
Both reports rank every competitor found in the market by Share of Local Voice, which makes this the rare case where a position can be stated rather than implied.
In December, Green Air Duct Club sat eighth of 96 tracked companies, 45.68 Share of Local Voice points behind the leader. In August it sat second of 118 — and the gap to first had closed to 9.87 points.
The market grew by 22 companies over the same window, which makes holding a higher position harder rather than easier.

The Work Behind the Grid
Air duct cleaning is one of the densest local categories there is. The December scan found 96 competing businesses inside a five-mile radius; the August scan found 118. Most hold no measurable share at all — 75% of them in the later report — which means the real contest is between a dozen or so companies, and it is fought on proximity and prominence rather than on price.
Green Air Duct Club is a service area business: crews travel to the customer, so there is no storefront anchoring the pin. That is the structural problem local SEO for home service companies exists to solve. Review velocity and entity consistency carry the Map Pack side, which is the work described on our Google Maps optimization page. Reviews moved from 254 to 291 across the window.

The Website, Not Just the Map
The grid measures the Map Pack. This measures the website. Daily organic clicks and impressions held a flat baseline through the autumn, then stepped up from late January 2026 and have run higher since.
These are two different surfaces. A grid scan records where the business appears in the local map results; Search Console records the classic organic listings underneath. Work on one tends to lift the other, but they are not the same measurement and we do not present them as though they were.
Want to See Your Own Grid?
The December scan was run before any work began, which is the only reason the March one means anything. We will run the same 9 × 9 grid on your business and market and show you where your visibility currently ends.
